£2 from the sale of every persist necklace and brooch goes to The Girls’ Network. Their mission is to inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them with a mentor and a network of professional female role models.

When Charly and Becca – two secondary school teachers in London witnessed the multiple barriers facing girls in their classrooms they set up a one-to-one mentoring scheme that became The Girls’ Network.  Research shows that conversations and personal relationships  have a big impact on challenging stereotypes and expectations. The Girls’ Network now operates across Greater London, Sussex, Portsmouth, the West Midlands, Greater Manchester, the North East, and Liverpool City Region, working with more than 1,000 girls each year. 93% of girls on the programme last year said their mentor had improved their confidence, and 96% believe their mentor has helped them feel more positive about the future.
