FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE brooch

Regular price £26.00

A Fragile brooch – because sometimes we need to be handled with care, please and thank you!

I really needed this after my Mum died, I wished there was some sort of international symbol of mourning that I could wear, or something to express my grief – those dusty Victorian black habits suddenly made sense to me. I wanted people to give me a wide berth, and for God's sake, not ask me to smile.

Slighty smaller than the original design, hand painted with white pigment on matte red. (This one doesn't glow in the dark.)

Details & dimensions

This brooch is etched in 3mm. matte red acrylic. The words are hand painted with white pigment. It measures just under 4.5cm. (13/4in.) across and fixes with a stainless steel fastener. This design does not glow in the dark.

Care instructions

Acrylic can break if dropped and will snap under pressure. Please store your jewellery in its box and keep away from lotions and sprays as moisture can discolour metal parts. Mirror acrylic can scratch easily, clean it like you would sunglasses, with a soft cloth and water or lens spray.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping is free on orders over £40 in the UK, and on orders over $75 to US customers.

Otherwise, postage is charged at a flat rate of £2.95 for Royal Mail Tracked-48 on UK orders and $15 Royal Mail International Tracked to the US.

I aim to send out orders within 2-3 days, but at busy time this may take a little longer, as some designs are made to order.

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to Wear and Resist in its original box and packaging within a month of purchase for a refund excluding postage. For reasons of hygiene I am afraid I cannot refund earrings.

This badge is perfect

I am recovering from major surgery and have no visible scars, but need a bit of extra ‘space’ and time. This badge has been just what I need and so many people have commented on how lovely it is.
So simple, but just right! Thank you Sarah :-)

Beautiful, like a little pink vicious candy. Much admired already. Thank you Sarah at Wear and Resist. I'll be back! Karen x
