This is one hell of a statement necklace – inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg's famous Dissenting Collar, which she wore to signal her condemnation of a decision (and also the day after Trump was elected).

It is made up of 13 separate pieces attached to the main 'I dissent' collar, with the words from her following quotation:

"Dissents speak to a future age. It's not simply to say, 'My colleagues are wrong and I would do it this way.' But the greatest dissents do become court opinions and gradually over time their views become the dominant view. So that's the dissenter's hope: that they are writing not for today, but for tomorrow."

These necklaces are made to order. Each piece is cut, glued and finished by me. Please allow two weeks from date of order to delivery.

The chain is adjustable to three lengths, but please get in touch if you know the exact length you would like it. It comes in an attractive large presentation box.

The necklace measures approx. 15cm. (6in.) across and 14cm. 51/2 in. in length.

The shortest fastening is 46cm. (18in.) and there are two further fastening circles at 5cm. (2in.) intervals. It is made of two layers of 3mm acrylic and weighs about 70grams.

£10 from the sale of every I Dissent necklace will go to Women for Refugee Women – a UK-based charity that supports women who are seeking asylum and challenges the injustices they experience.

🎁 Is it a gift? ✨PLEASE✨ if you are ordering more than one item let me know if they can share boxes! Otherwise they will come in as few boxes as possible. 🌲🙂 You can let me know and leave a gift message at checkout.

Shipping & Returns

I aim to send out all orders as soon as possible, usually within a couple days of receiving them. Special orders and bespoke designs can take up to a week longer, and with such a big range of products, some designs are made to order so can't be sent next day. Please allow two days from ordering to posting even if you choose Tracked 24 or Special Delivery.

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to Wear and Resist in its original box and packaging within a month of purchase for a full refund or exchange. For reasons of hygiene I am afraid I cannot refund earrings.

Care Instructions

Acrylic can break if dropped and will snap under pressure. Please store your jewellery in its box and keep away from lotions and sprays as moisture can discolour metal chains.

About us

Wear and Resist was launched by me, Sarah Day, in early 2017 as a way to channel my frustration at the political climate into a creative pursuit that would raise money for women's charities. It has grown word by word, but it's still just me, with a little help from Eliza, my daughter, model and muse. We currently support five main charities.

Solar powered! 🌞

Wear and Resist is now run almost entirely on solar energy.
