'I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.'

Sylvia Plath uses this phrase twice in The Bell Jar, and it is the title of Maggie O'Farrell's book, I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death. It is also a mantra used in Kundalini yoga, and as Ekhart Tolle says: 'The ultimate truth of who you are is not I am this or I am that, but I am.'  Let's call this, 'meditative jewellery' – something beautiful to wear for yourself.

These earrings are cut from 3mm. acrylic, etched and hand-painted with gold pigment.  The hearts measure 2.5cm. (1in.) across at their widest point. They come on gold-plated hoops.

£2 goes to Women for Refugee Women – a UK-based charity that supports women who are seeking asylum and challenges the injustices they experience. They run a range of activities for refugee women, including English classes, drama and writing workshops, with the aim of empowering them to tell their own stories.

Shipping & Returns

I aim to send out all orders as soon as possible, usually within a couple days of receiving them. Special orders and bespoke designs can take up to a week longer, and with such a big range of products, some designs are made to order so can't be sent next day. Please allow two days from ordering to posting even if you choose Tracked 24 or Special Delivery.

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to Wear and Resist in its original box and packaging within a month of purchase for a full refund or exchange. For reasons of hygiene I am afraid I cannot refund earrings.

Care Instructions

Acrylic can break if dropped and will snap under pressure. Please store your jewellery in its box and keep away from lotions and sprays as moisture can discolour metal chains.

Sarah Day the founder of Wear and Resist in her Oxfordshire studio.

About us

Wear and Resist was launched by me, Sarah Day, in early 2017 as a way to channel my frustration at the political climate into a creative pursuit that would raise money for women's charities. It has grown word by word, but it's still just me, with a little help from Eliza, my daughter, model and muse. We currently support five main charities.
