NOTORIOUS RBG necklace

£32.00

A statement necklace designed in honour of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who served 27 years on the Supreme Court.

Her fight for gender equality amounted to a revolution for women in America. She was given the "Notorious RBG" moniker in a Tumblr started by law student Shana Knizhnik (who has written a book with Irin Carmon of the same name.) A play on the Notorious B.I.G., a rap star, Knizhnik said, "Here you had this diminutive person, this tiny human, and nobody saw her as a badass. But when you see what she has done, over years, with such dignity and grace, it represented that." When RBG was asked if it made her uncomfortable, she said, "Why should I feel uncomfortable? We have a lot in common. First and foremost, we were both born and bred in Brooklyn, New York."

£2 goes to Women for Refugee Women.

Care instructions

Acrylic can break if dropped and will snap under pressure. Please store your jewellery in its box and keep away from lotions and sprays as moisture can discolour metal parts.

Shipping & Returns

I aim to send out orders within 2-3 days, but at busy time this may take a little longer, as some designs are made to order. All orders are now sent Royal Mail Tracked-48. You will get an email to let you know when your order is on its way. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to Wear and Resist in its original box and packaging within a month of purchase for a refund excluding postage. For reasons of hygiene I am afraid I cannot refund earrings.
